Sewickley is known for a lot of wonderful things, our water is not one of them. Our Water Authority is great- very helpful and quick to respond, but the water itself is not….. tasty, at least not in our location on Chestnut Street.
When looking into a whole house water systems we met with a couple of companies that were recommended to us by other residents. Ultimately, we went with Negley Water. The systems we selected were:
MT91/16M-48B twin demand water softener
PIONEER (lead free) whole house water filter
AEP-TLC-50D reverse osmosis DWS
RO-80 24x57 holding tank
DDP5831-134 .75 gpm delivery pump
Did I lose you? If you’re like me, none of this means anything to you. In order to decide on a system, I looked at the size of the holding tank, the type of filter, the yearly maintenance cost, and if the system had some sort of monitoring that would allow me to now have to remember to check the filter manually. Let’s be real- who has the time? This system had the largest holding tank for the price, low yearly maintenance costs and the ability to monitor from my phone.
These systems will soften the water throughout the house, protecting the faucets and appliances and provide delicious drinking water ice.
If you'd like to have your water tested or learn more about water system options for your home, I recommend reaching out to Negley Water. They provide both bottled water and home water filtration systems.
P.S. A special thanks to our Nanny and her parents who have, no joke, been providing us with drinking water while we lived in our rental house. The rental house does not have a whole house filtration system and no one would drink the water. So our Nanny would bring us jugs of fresh water every morning.
